Olowalu - Mile Marker 14

Olowalu Beach Picture

Snorkel Info:

There is plenty of reef to explore here. The only problem is that it is quite shallow here so you need to be careful to find one of the sandy paths heading out through the reef. If you go out almost directly across from the 14 maile marker sign you will find one of these channels there. Sometimes it is a little murky closer in but usually if you go a little farther out the visibility clears up nicely.

Beach Info:

There is not a whole lot of beach here. There is a little, but if you plan to hang out on the beach be sure to clear your area of the large Kiawe thorns which fall from the trees and are all over this beach. There are no facilities available here at all.

How to Get Here:

Heading South from Lahaina, take Highway 30. You will pass a small convenience store and a French restaurant called Chez Paul. Shortly after passing these shops look for Mile Marker 14 and park alongside the road. Be very careful when leaving if you are heading back to Lahaina, making a left hand turn across traffic can be very tough here.
