La Perouse

Snorkel Info:

La Perouse is a favorite Maui snorkel spot. One of the biggest draws to this site is the possibility of swimming with dolphin. If you want to try this, it is suggested that you try to get there as early as possible and then swim to the outer reef area, if you are REALLY lucky, than you may get to swim with the dolphins. Otherwise this is a great Maui snorkeling spot all the way around with plenty of colorful sea life and the possibility of seeing turtles.

Beach Info:

The beach at La Perouse is all jagged lava rock which can be quite sharp and is brittle, so be careful walking on it. There are no facilities here.

How to Get Here:

Follow Makena Rd South until it dead ends. You will see other cars parked here. Follow the trail to La Perouse. Note: the trail is almost entirely over lava rock so be sure to wear tennis shoes to protect your feet. Do not leave any valuables in your car.
