Howdy y'all,
We'll be in Kihei for 7 days the end of April 08 and are going to rent 2 surfboards for the week. We are Beginers Rolling Eyes and would like to possibly arrange some lessons as well. There will be 4-6 of us, depending on who can be persuaded. So the questions are, can we rent boards from you (I'd noticed them in the pics of your shops), are the beaches near Kihei worth much for surfing, and who would you recomend for a group lesson for us?
Thanks, and I've really enjoyed reading the posts in your forum!

Aloha, Farmer Tan!

Yes, we rent surfboards (at 2 locations in Kihei.) We have some really nice longboards perfect for learning. Kihei has some great spots for learning. The Cove is popular for longboarding because of its slow, small, rolling waves.

I suggest looking at these MAUI SURF SCHOOLS and booking a lesson online. If you want a more personal detailed opinion from someone that has experienced most of these school's surf lessons, give a Frog a call at (808) 661-3333.

If I were you, I would book a lesson, and rent a board. You may only need one lesson to get going, then you can use your rented board to explore waves around the island. Also, try 1000 peaks, Grandma's, and Guardrails on the west side. We have a lot of fun waves for beginners on this island.

Good luck and we'll see you soon!
